Overview:

We are looking for a Backend Engineer - Data to build out their data infrastructure. The role is a tech leadership position that will oversee data integration development and roadmap, working closely with customers to ensure the data integrations work consistently and have a great user experience. The candidate will drive the future direction of data integrations, build integrations, consolidate pipelines, increase test coverage, and develop better mechanisms for data transforms.


Responsibilities:

  • Build a unified system to manage all data pipelines (including health checks and alerting)
  • Build robust data integrations and pipelines for our self-serve product
  • Work with clients and our customer success team to gather requirements and implement pipelines to pull data from various data sources

Requirements:

  • + years of software engineering experience
  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience (excluding contracting)
  • Some experience with our backend stack (Node/Typescript/Go/Python) and ideally also have experience with the modern data stack (DBT, Fivtetran, etc)
  • Ideally ex engineering manager and/or has team lead experience
  • Comfortable shipping features end-to-end, from defining the product spec to deploying to production
  • Experience with ClickHouse or other database company (MongoDB, DuckDB, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Proficient in Typescript or Python
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code with attention to performance and security, but also be able to ship quickly and scrappily when the occasion calls for it
